I've been living in Mexico, "illegally" for 10 year. What I have witnessed is tremendous overall improvement. It's the product of a shadowy organizational structure and it serves their interest well. To really apprehend what is happening in a country you should live there, reality is far removed for facts and figures. I am here because I choose to escape Canada soft-fashisim and medical martial law that was the worst in the world.

I just spent six month in Mexico... It is definitely more free in some ways BUT more authoritarian in others...

I equate traveling Mexico to time travel, some regions are ultra conservative others aren't. There's little to no homogeny at least now WiFi isn't an issue and they all have fancy phones, they use WhatsApp, for email isn't an option.

Trying to educate or explain some things to Mexicans is little difficult 🤦‍♀️ I know couple people that are so PROUD of THEIR presidente specifically now that THEY have elected a WOMAN PRESIDENTE. 🙄

The evolution of the Mexican psyche goes through leaps and bounds. Riviera Maya where I've spent most of my last 3 years is the epicenter of it all. Barely educated people with access to chatgpt2 can muster incredible change, I am banking in that.

Collectivism, the very word strikes terror into the hearts of the hyper individualistic westerner.. Very little familiarity with the history of the rest of the world and it's pre democratic past so we call the leaders dictators and tyrants. But are they any more tyrannical than the ones we elect every four or so years? Russia never knew any sort of western style democracy prior to Putin who is a strong leader with broad positives among the population but is called a dictator of something to that extent. Same with all the ones who are not aligned with western power. Maduro, Ji, whoever the leader of Iran is and of course N. Korea. And now Mexico.

They bad, we good. WE have democracy where we get to elect which tyrant we prefer although in the end they are all about the same. Yay for us!!!

And what about China? Are they an economic failure because of the centrally controlled economy?

Even if I sympathise with your cause I am sick of listening to your advert in end of articles, it's often almost as long a the article itself.
