you have the option to opt out of them taking your picture. there are posters with written notices on the pillars in front of the TSA booths. they'll take you in a separate room, make you wait some 20 minutes, then ask you about other identification numbers like SSN etc. but yes, these glasses are designed to keep you private everywhere else you go with facial recognition being now in every major city and certainly airports

I know they are going to force you to face scan but I am going to add this to the book to foil facial recognition in crowds for J-6 type scenarios
