We bailed our church when the convoy came to Ottawa and they wouldn't even pray for a peaceful resolution. I have COPD and other issues and can't / won't mask. They had problems with that. We would not discuss or pray about any of the events going on and the pastor ended every sermon with "stay safe", not "stat true to scripture" or "stay vigilant for the Lord", but stay safe. They sure didn't want to hear anything about how Christians during the black death served the sick knowing it was a coin toss whether they would also die. As the trucks started showing up and Canadian news all reported on the planted nazi signs and faked harassment of locals, our church believed TV. We joined a home church where we meet without masks in living rooms or on patios. I fear that congregation is probably dropping like flies now since most were seniors. A dying church across the street from an abandoned church, down the road from another dying church. Maybe if they taught fear of God instead of fear of covid they would be growing.

A good reason never to listen to the pastor unless he is reading scripture.

Faith-based naivete is one of the most potent forces in existence. God bless it for the profits it allows us to reap from the vulnerable.
