Are Trump supporters worse? In one or two respects, perhaps. But you can find a lot of Trump supporters with critiques of Trump or issues they differentiate themselves on. Good luck finding that among the Democratic rank-and-file; they answer every single critique with “well what about Trump?” or “if that’s true, why haven’t I heard about it?” Or if it’s unusually obviously true and undeniably shameful then “you think Trump wouldn’t do that?”
The mindlessness is palpable. There is no rationality. There is no logic. There are no facts from beyond the narrative—in fact, you’re lucky if you’re in a conversation with someone who even grasps the narrative, beyond “Trump bad, us good.” Critical thinking just does not occur, including on issues they purport to advocate for. Some of them limit their political activity to chanting and/or screaming at people.
They are a terrifying bunch. There is no principle that can’t be sacrificed in the name of partisan apologia. Most of them live in states of mind, variously premised on non-stop fear & anxiety, resentment, or entitlement. Practically speaking, they embrace every tactic they claim to be horrified by. They’re a minority of the electorate, but a significant one. These are the people who enforce a Cultural Revolution-type event.
Would be better if the video 'reporting' guy wasn't loading the screen with masonic hand signs at the beginning...
First criticism - its a biased selection and we don't know how many people were asked to get those responses.
Secondly, they used to do this on the idiot box talk shows all the time, to make fun of how lacking in critical knowledge many US Americans had of the world and crap educations, again, zero knowledge of how many they had to ask to get those responses...
I'd say a majority just support their 'favorite colored team' come thick or thin - like a sports team, or the one their family and close friends do - for those narrative NPC 'followers', on both 'sides'. Sides that don't even exist in reality. So if a person still follows a team this late in the day, they are likely either an NPC or a programmer.
