An interesting question is what actual incentive would there be for a foreign army to invade a stateless society with no government and no taxation and a population who are (by definition) opposed to such things on principle and used to being free?
There's also a high probability an invading army would be invited to stay and enjoy such a pleasant and civilised life, and would defect. They could even be offered free houses (or some other incentive) if they defected and this would still represent a minuscule cost, compared to the typical costs of a war.
In reality though, it is likely a stateless society would only exist in isolation for a short time, before every other nation (or most nations) followed suit - out of envy if nothing else. Progress tends to work that way, especially in our modern connected world.
