So evacuations that would have happened in the areas hit the worst never happened? The horse of the apocalypse death cult rides again.

I really appreciate this article. I used to live in North Carolina and lived in 2 different WNC counties including Buncombe County. These are for the most part very rugged folks. Asheville not so much but the many generations residents are always prepared for tough times. But even this was tough on too many people. The people that I know there are all safe and anyone that is able-bodied and able to drive on passable roads is out clearing trees from roads and houses and distributing food and water and emergency rides.

Yes way too much of our tax money goes over seas, and for government hogwash. But you just said it above - "the world could have more harmony and prosperity without "government"". I am hearing stories from people I know that live there that are fully engaged in assisting in this situation. Even local farmers markets are pulling together rescue food services of real and local foods and clean water. It's so great to see that we really do have big hearts and are capable of pulling together without full participation of the government. There are some great EMS/rescue squads/power companies and such making an essential difference too, but overall it's people in service to others in desperate need that are essential to this moment.

For me, hearing about it through personal contacts gave me greater understanding of what was going on than waiting for the news to decide if and what to talk about. Just be sure not to drive I-40 between NC and Tenn. any time soon.

How much private land will be stolen by the government once the water resides???
