I think it would be to little too late to give China the ultimatum. Why would the CCP care now whether it could participate with dollars? They want to end the US dollar as the world's reserve currency anyway. They also want to see the US defeated in other ways, so not providing all the cheap products might benefit them in the long run as well.
But we should, if it is legal, stop paying them any interest at all on our obligations to them until they pay all back amounts owed on their obligations to us.
