The notion that people can sue for defamation does us a huge disservice because it means we can't be honest about scoundrels. Why can't they just hold a public debate - that would soon show who's right. It always stumps me how in patriarchy everything is done in the most complicated and convoluted way. What we need is a "court of public debate" that's all where there is no censorship and the people ourselves are the judges who can vote on which side has the best argument.
