For the record... I don't trust Telegram and call it out in my book for censorship BUT it is a useful platform which is why they are turning if off... Session is my preferred encrypted messaging platform

I don’t think encryption matters anymore because they can run an app on any device to see your screen. It would be easy to have an AI do it and recap exactly what you typed, looked at, etc. There’s zero privacy in 2024.

Welcome to the Fourth Industrial Revolution 😃

There's a difference between surveillance and censorship. Censorship is more dangerous than surveillance.

And, hardware backdoor called intel management engine is disabled in intel computers(not AMD computers) from purism, starlabs, or system76. They sell linux computers that focus on privacy. Their hardwares are secure. Their softwares are private. You just need to pay for privacy. You don't have to be a computer expert to have a basic level of privacy.

If you want some extra privacy, you can purchase VPN subscription. VPNs can still be surveilled through traffic analysis attack, but they prevent websites from learning your real IP address, and they circumvent geological censorship. VPNs improve privacy and free flow of information. If you harden firefox or use librewolf browser, you don't make it easy for websites to track you through browser fingerprint.

If you really need to be careful, then you should use tor browser.

All of this can largely deter passive surveillance, but if there are people who target you for surveillance with a lot of resources through phone calls and coercion, then you can still be tracked.

Extra privacy takes a little bit of traning, but it can be learned by anyone who wants to learn computing.

And FYI, I didn’t mean you as in you but I like to make provocative one liners for people to read in the comments.
