Do you suppose they are rushing this through before the Administration changes? The corruption at the Federal Agencies is decades old, however no GMO should be written in as GRAS, or presumed to be safe in any fashion. In fact, it should be assumed to be harmful until testing proves it is not.

On the surface, the concept here is compelling. Yet the field of genetic modification is rife with potential unwanted consequences. What percentage of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes comprise the avian diet? The freshwater fish diet? What will that do to the bird populations if the percentage is high? Will the GMO bugs have a different protein and lipid makeup that could produce atopy in species that feed on them? What will a drop off of bird species do to the rest of the insect population?

As long as the Federal agencies simply rubber-stamp a company's applications without adequate safety testing, the health of the nation remains at risk.
