Freightliner is owned by Daimler and they are the largest semi truck company in the world. There are also some very large chinese semi truck makers. Freightliner, Damler and the Chinese Semi truck makers are making diesel trucks almost exclusively.
Pepsi Tesla Semi trucks are getting 370 to 545 miles of range using 70-130% of charge and are averaging about 400-450 miles for 100% charge range. The Freightliner eCascadia Semi truck used by OK Produce is getting 240-250 miles of range on 90-95% charge. It should be noted that the driving speeds of the Tesla Semi in the real world tests were 62-65 miles per hour. Driving an electric semi for optimal longer range is 50-55 miles per hour.
There is a research paper that goes over aerodynamics, speed and payload weight in regards to energy usage of an electric truck. 65 mph is 95.3 feet per second and 52.5 mph is 77 feet per second. The part of equation that deals with speed is squared. Basically you lose 15% of your range driving at 65 mph versus 52.5 mph in an electric truck pulling max load.
Another eCascadia truck used by Penske Ontario got 122 miles of range on about 43% charge. This should be about 280 miles for 100% charge usage.
Another eCascadia truck by Schneider is getting 169 miles of range on 75% of the charge. There are eCascadia’s with smaller battery packs. This should be about 220 miles for 100% charge.
A UPS eCascadia truck is getting 88 miles of range on 38% of charge. This should be about 230 miles for 100% charge.
US Foods eCascadia is getting 70-80 miles of range on 30% of charge.
Watts EV BYD truck is getting 75 miles of range on 30% of charge.
The Performance Team VNR trucks are getting about 84 miles of range on 40% charge. They recharge after 80-100 miles are driven for 167 miles total for the day.
Nextbigfuture has a table comparing the stated prices, ranges and payloads of all of the Semi trucks.
