I have had 11 of my substack articles age restricted censored.
But I received no notification of this. I happened to look at my substack on my phone and saw that articles were restricted. No indication when logged in to my account via the laptop.
This is for readers in the UK. Supposedly to protect against porn/drugs. I have nothing on my substack about those. The articles banned are critical of Islam.
It is stupid - a VPN gets around the restriction so it is pointless anyway.
And Karl C. is leaving. We blew substack's censorship and interference up over there yesterday. He calls it Shitestack.
I just did a screenshot sequence for VP.net to show them that Proton.me is somehow screwing with my connection to their vpn service. Proton is preventing me from using their VPN to access the internet... unless I clean the PC (CCleaner or Masterclean), recycle the modem and re-start my PC to remove whatever Proton.me has done.
I have been on ProtonVPN for about 3 years and I really like it, but I heard on The People's Voice (rumble.com) that Proton is connected to the European Union and the World Economic Forum. After I asked Proton's staff if it was connected to the EU or the WEF, the next day I my ISP could not find Proton's servers. I wondered if it was some kind of retaliation, and fixed the situation by swapping out my modem. Proton's support came back a couple days later (after the blow up yesterday on Karl C.), and said that Proton has received awards from organizations - but didn't say WHAT organizations - but is not connected to those organizations... who were not named. I came right back at them with my list of 5 issues with Proton and flat out told them they were no longer trusted.
I did a similar thing over at Substack too - which has been splitting off my comments on some channels into some other threads for the last 3 weeks... So the fight is on.
What annoys me most is they did the censoring without telling me. It was only because I happened to show my substack to a friend using my phone, that I saw numerous of my articles censored. While I am logged in to my substack using a browser on my laptop the articles are just fine and not censored. I was completely unaware anything was wrong.
They should at least put an icon or other indication that they are censored.
I am using the free version of Proton VPN. I can see my articles fine even when not logged in to my substack account.
They are doing it to comply with the UK online harms law. Which is intended to stop children seeing porn/drugs/suicide etc sites. But sites that are truthful about Islam are deemed harmful too, aparently. Ironic as I am opposed to the Muslim rape gangs that are seriously harmful to children.
We really are battling every day to preserve our freedoms.
I've never had a smart phone (or a TV), so I would never have found out. I agree with you 100%. If the content creator/author is so fucking important to Substack, then Substack's executives could at least show a little respect and let the developers provide indicators that the publishing side is being altered.

When I got up this morning, Proton had done it again. If I used the competitor's VPN (VP.net) I couldn't reach a single website. ISP not found. Server not found. Once I recycled my modem, cleaned my machine before and after a restart - I got my internet access back. I made screen shots of everything to show the help desk at VP.net.
Just spitballing, ProtonVPN does not want me to change to VP.net. I have both vpn drives on my PC so I can try VP.net. So, the purpose of all this interference might be to make me think my internet use was so much easier with ProtonVPN, and now that VP.net is on board I have nothing but problems - so, why not just forget about VP.net and go back to ProtonVPN? Which would work on someone who is not old, cantankerous, and obsessive compulsive :)))LOL
This is why I want to get to the bottom of these nasty little interference plays. Once again, we need our own platforms to do everything and get off the enemy's internet.
I can't advise on VPNs. I just use the free Proton VPN and it does what I want. So I don't try any others.
I have been using the Firefox browser. No problems until the last couple of weeks - Youtube videos would be very slow to load and maybe just freeze after the initial advert stopped playing. I looked up and there is some problem now between them.
So for Youtube I watch the videos on anther browser - AVG secure browser. And no problems on that watching YouTube.
But all my settings for websites are on Firefox. So I end up running both browsers.
I was on the free version of ProtonVPN too, for about a year. Then one of their specials appeared in my in-box and I upgraded. It did give me more choices. BUT, after an explosion of servers around the world, it is now reverting to spoofing for some of the countries and the server volume is way down.
Thanks for the heads up on Firefox Mozilla vs Youtube. I have been using Firefox at night for healing frequencies on youtube and weird things were happening... I had to revert to Firefox for Youtube, because Librewolf won't access Youtube at all now. Right now I'm running Epic Privacy Browser, Librewolf, and Firefox. I use Metager (Mozilla Brave and not great) for a search engine on Librewolf and Firefox. Epic has some weird shit going on so I can't use it's browser, but if I know the website, I can use Epic to reach it.
Librewolf was the absolute best for privacy, but a lot of sites did not function well on it. I don't know what's happening to it... I judge a website by how much crap (cookies, trackers, junk files, etc.) is on my machine after I use the internet. If MasterClean or CCleaner pulls a lot of crap, then I know the browser / seearch engine is low quality.
I bailed recently on Gibiru search engine when it suppressed a bunch of known search results, and I finally admitted to myself that the "censored" results it was supposed to be getting were 100% unrelated to the initial search, and that this was never going to improve. LOL! And there is no way to tell Gibiru how bad it sucks now, because it has no support portal and it's management is domiciled in Ladonia - basically a fake country in Sweden. I'm a citizen of Ladonia now too, so maybe I got one interesting thing out of Gibiru...:))
