Revisiting John Taylor Gatto: “How public education cripples our kids, and why”
During his career as a teacher. I think it would be safe to say he is a credible source to understand and comprehend the system we call public education.
Who is John Taylor Gatto?
“John Taylor Gatto (December 15, 1935 – October 25, 2018) was an American author and school teacher. After teaching for nearly 30 years he authored several books on modern education, criticizing its ideology, history, and consequences. He is best known for his books Dumbing Us Down: the Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling, and The Underground History of American Education: A Schoolteacher’s Intimate Investigation Into the Problem of Modern Schooling.” (1)
John Taylor Gatto had received New York State and New York City Teacher of the Year. (2)
“I’ve noticed a fascinating phenomenon in my thirty years of teaching: schools and schooling are increasingly irrelevant to the great enterprises of the planet. No one believes anymore that scientists are trained in science classes or politicians in civics classes or poets in English classes. The truth is that schools don’t really teach anything except how to obey orders. This is a great mystery to me because thousands of humane, caring people work in schools as teachers and aides and administrators, but the abstract logic of the institution overwhelms their individual contributions. Although teachers do care and do work very, very hard, the institution is psychopathic — it has no conscience. It rings a bell and the young man in the middle of writing a poem must close his notebook and move to a different cell where he must memorize that humans and monkeys derive from a common ancestor.” (3)
During his career as a teacher. I think it would be safe to say he is a credible source to understand and comprehend the system we call public education. He was on the front lines in the Class (Part 1 & Part 2) and Culture Warfare (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, & Part 4). John would be able detail and warn Americans about the ideology and the programming being done by social engineering and Psychological-Conditioning (Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3) on our children.
“What’s gotten in the way of education in the United States is a theory of social engineering that says there is ONE RIGHT WAY to proceed with growing up.” (3)
John Taylor Gatto would be considered a whistleblower:
“A whistleblower . . . is a person, often an employee, who reveals information about activity within a private or public organization that is deemed illegal, immoral, illicit, unsafe or fraudulent. Whistleblowers can use a variety of internal or external channels to communicate information or allegations.” (4)
He uncovers un-American ideas being taught in the public schools, being masqueraded as Education, which is nothing more than dumbing down Americans one generation at a time as a sliding scale as it is getting exponentially worse over time.
The Leftists, Revolutionaries (Part 1 & Part 2), and political class (some ignorant and others knowingly) are involved in coup d’état to re-introduce refeudalization into America and the world (Tyranny).
Also known as The 21st Century Fascism.
The school system is the key to this coup d’etat takeover of America. The enemy controls the school system.
“The bottom line is our enemies are in control of the schools. So there is no fix. I know you don’t want to hear that, because I don’t want to hear that, but it is true. They want our kids to be useful idiots. They want them to be dependent on the state. That’s the goal of the whole thing. So they will repackage, rename, rebrand the same old thing over and over again. It is intentionally going downhill. We have to grasp this. It is purposeful.” (5)
“We legitimize them by acting like they just don’t have a good idea and we have a better one. They know exactly what they are doing. They want to create a new world man that is dependent on government for his very existence.” (5)
“So to even talk about Common Core, debating its good points or bad points is playing into their plan of side tracking all of our energies and efforts on a dead end road.” (5)
“Even without Common Core, the schools are completely bankrupt and destroying our children. We have seen a decline for 70 straight years without any interruption. As long as the government has a monopoly in education, we will keep getting what we have.” (5)
“The end result is to make our children and those educated under this influence to make them unfit to govern themselves.” — Dr. Alan Keyes (5)
Own a piece of libertarian activist history! In 2013, the police accountability organization Cop Block produced a one-time run of "Shiny Badges" modeled after the Keene, New Hampshire police department badge from a manufacturer of "real" police badges. The heavy-weight badge features the Cop Block logo and the words: "Shiny Badges Don't Grant Extra Rights,” reminding the police of the incredible delusion required to believe a shiny badge gives one an exception from morality or the "right" to imprison peaceful people for victimless crimes among other immoral transgressions required for the job.

I didn’t know who John Gatto was until just this year. I couldn’t believe I never heard of him, until I learned how threatening he was to the hideous establishment controlling all of America’s crap education systems, from elementary school to our state universities. I’ve got his 5 hr interview YouTube link talking about the American education system in my Substack video collection post, and it’s worth watching more than once.
I despised school.
If I was to go to school a one room school house of local families, kids and Teacher all known to the families would have been preferable......much like the amish.
