Fantastic thinking.

I am afraid there aren't enough of us, rather many people are conditioned to antisocial personality disorder, the main symptom of which is the need for power over other people. Since government is the exercise of power, these worst of these people are attracted to government office, hence even if government was intended to be free of corruption, it always becomes corrupted.

When agriculture was invented, people became invested in land and this made them ripe from plunder by groups that remained hunter/gatherers. The raids by those not invested in land were destructive of production, and eventually agriculturalists made deals with the strongest group of raiders for regular tribute (tax) in return for protection against other raiders. This was the birth of government, and essentially those in government had the upper hand because their business was the use of violence. Government has always been plunder and control by those in power, despite the illusion that we are free because we can vote for our masters.

My husband and I were talking the other day about politics and I said if I’m anything I’m an anarchist. This substack just confirmed it. Proud to be one, tired of all the political crap and governmental control!
